Cecilia Calderon

The work of Cecilia Calderon embodies an ancient aura depicted through organic abstraction.  Mixed media tapestries arise out of melding fabric, rope, oil paints, copper, gemstones, beads, and other natural materials.  Copper is a noble and fascinating material for this artist. Working with this particular metal she has found the perfect medium to express her connection to nature, the ultimate artist. The artist states that her art consists of trusting the alliance between copper and my inner voice,  allowing it to guide my hands, manifesting the ideas that come from within.
